About

Biotao is a diversified ecology management business based in South East Queensland with three core areas of business; Landscaping, Ecology and Agriculture.

Our History

Originally established by Leo Perkins in 2015 in the N.S.W/QLD border ranges, Biotao operated primarily within the sustainable agricultural sector. In response to changing market conditions, we broadened our business in 2020 to expand and formalise our core offering to include landscaping and garden maintenance, as well as ecology design and maintenance services.

Our knowledge of ecology in productive and non-productive zones provided a unique perspective to the challenges of landscaping, garden and ecology maintenance that has been welcomed by informed customers.

Our Vision

At Biotao, we believe that sustainability can be achieved in our lifetime. We recognise that achieving this has significant challenges for individuals and organisations. There are many generations of inertia in the ways that we have been doing things that have been unsustainable. It is challenging to change this and yet the result of not doing so is critical to our existence as a species.

Our Mission

Biotao was established to act for the natural environment to encourage natural environment regeneration and reintegration in areas disturbed by human interaction in a way that provides a symbiotic balance between the natural environment and human sustainability. We also aim for the removal, sustainable decontamination and processing of human pollution.

Our Principles

Biotao as an organisation lives by principles of reason and virtues. The virtues of Biotao are; Sophia (Wisdom), Andreia (Courage), Dikaiosyne (Justice), and Sophrosyne (Temperance). These virtues are to be applied as a unified view by the individual and therefore the organisation.

Our Services

Our services include sustainable garden design and maintenance, ecological design and maintenance, and sustainable agricultural consultancy.

We believe in creating self-sustaining ecologies that require minimal maintenance and provide maximum benefit.
